FAQ
Does Cape Kids Volleyball do the same thing every month?
Yes and no. We are a fundamentals-based program that also focuses on team play and building confidence. Just like the pros, all players need to constantly work on the basics. If your child is already confident in overhand serving, attacking, blocking, passing, and setting — we may not be the right fit. But if they’re still developing those foundational skills, we’re the perfect place to grow.
Why are Saturday sessions only 4-5 days a month, compared to 10 days for weekdays?
Our Saturday/Sunday program runs in two-hour blocks, allowing for fewer interruptions, longer drills and scrimmages, and only one warmup per day. The result? A more efficient use of time and no drop in value.
Why choose Cape Kids Volleyball over other programs?
We think you should choose what’s best for your family — whether that’s based on schedule, cost, coaching style, or the type of environment you want for your child. What makes Cape Kids Volleyball different is that we welcome everyone: no tryouts, no cuts. We focus on fundamentals, confidence, and kindness. Coach Bryan makes sure every player gets real coaching and practice time on the court — not just waiting until game days.
Is Cape Kids Volleyball affordable?
Yes. We’ve intentionally priced our program below market rates for youth sports in the area. This is a labor of love for us — we believe every child should have access to quality coaching, and we aim to keep it that way while still offering a professional, organized experience.
What if we miss a class? Can we make it up?
We totally understand that things come up! While we don’t offer formal make-up sessions, we always try to be flexible. If you reach out in advance, we’ll do our best to find a way for your child to get extra touches — either through joining another day or extending drill time.
My child is shy or has never played volleyball before. Will they feel out of place?
Not at all! Most of our players start with zero experience. We specialize in building confidence and breaking things down step-by-step. Cape Kids is designed to be a safe, encouraging space — whether your child is nervous, brand new, or just needs a confidence boost.
Who are the coaches? What are their backgrounds?
Coach Bryan and Coach AnnMarie are both experienced coaches and parents. We’ve completed all background checks and training required by Lee County for programs involving children. More importantly, we care deeply about teaching fundamentals in a supportive, patient, and fun environment.
How do I sign up, and when do new sessions open?
You can sign up through our website www.capekidsvolleyball.com. We usually open registration a few weeks before the new month starts, and sessions tend to fill quickly — so don’t wait!
Do the kids play real games or just do drills?
Both! Each session includes a mix of skill-building drills and team play. We often end practice with scrimmages or fun games that apply what we’ve learned. Our goal is to teach the “why” behind every skill — and make it fun along the way.
